Gamma Ray

I've been tagged, THREE TIMES (:

Firstly, the lovely Lottie gave me a Kreativ blogger award! Thanks, and visit her blog, it's pretty neat (:

This award requires the blogger to list 7 interesting things about themselves and then pass the award on to 7 other 'kreativ bloggers'.

1. My name is actually Kate, and not Katie or Katherine or Kathryn or Kaitlyn or anything. That's not really interesting, but I'm the only person I know like that.

2. At school people call me cafe. I'm not quite sure why, this random guy just used to call me that.

3. At the moment I'm reading Lord of The Flies. My favourite book is probably The Perks of Being A Wallflower or The Catcher In the Rye though. I read quite a lot these days. I'm a bit of a geek.

4. I've been learning the violin since I was four., and the piano quite a while as well I guess. I really want to learn the guitar though. And the harp. And learn how to sing, properly.

5. I've never broken a bone. When I was little I could dislocate my arm really easily though.

6. I have a GCSE in Italian, and hopefully come August 27th, one in Spanish as well. Next year I'll study French. I like languages.

7. I can front somersault, handspring and barani on my trampoline. Other than that, I have no athletic ability whatsoever. That was random.

I'm going to pass this award on to Roz, Amelia, Dapper Kid, Demi, Becca, Winnie and Rosie.

Also, Kait tagged me to say six things that make me happy...

1. My boyfriend.
2. People watching.
3. Raspberries, and eating them like Amelie.
4. Painting my nails bright colours. At the moment my fingers are cobalt blue and my toes are coral. Barry M is a king.
5. Corsodyl mouthwash, the red stuff I regularly steal from my parents. It tastes like licorice, you know.
6. DVD box sets. My sister and I watched almost a whole series of friends this morning.

I'm going to tag Zoe, Heleen and Carocream.

Finally, I got sent an award from Wonderlander!

It's a lemonade stand award, thanks so much! I have to tag twelve people now, so here are twelve lovely blogs you should all check out...

Thanks everyone! x

P.S. I thought some of you might enjoy this...

You ain't born typical

This isn't the sort of thing I usually post, but I saw this guy in the paper yesterday, and since then he has become my new obsession. Liu Bolin is from Shandong in China, and here is part of his latest series, Hiding in the City. He paints himself in order to blend in with the surroundings, then takes pictures I guess. I think they are actually amazing.

I'll do graffiti, if you sing to me in french

Despite the HIDEOUS weather on Sunday, T4 on the beach was amazing! The best act was definitely Dizzee Rascal, followed by Basement Jaxx and Gossip, they were both really great. I was really looking forward to Calvin Harris, but it seemed like there was some sort of technical problem or something, so it just wasn't LOUD enough. Florence and the Machine was absolutely incredible, but I think she would have been a whole lot better had she played the smaller stage, you know? Other than that, I managed to see rather a lot of artists, including Little Boots, Frankmusik, Paloma Faith, and, er Peter Andre. He just appeared on stage at one point, which was rather odd!

Beggars and liars, gypsies and thieves

This weekend has felt pretty surreal for me, how was yours?

I can't say I've ever been a big fan of Alice in Wonderland, but I couldn't not post these pictures, taken from the new Tim Burton film. It's not going to be anything like the original story, more like a sequel, which I think is rather cool. Here is the synopsis and some pictures, it's out in March next year if you're wondering (:

Alice, 17, attends a party at a Victorian estate only to find she is about to be proposed to in front of hundreds of snooty society types. Off she runs, following a white rabbit into a hole and ending up in Wonderland, a place she visited 10 years before yet doesn't remember.

PS. This was my fiftieth post, and I think now I have fifty followers! Thanks (: x

I love that little game you had called, crying lightning

I know I should have really posted nearer the time, but Exeter on Saturday was really good! Unfortunately I forgot to take (or rather get Lynsey to take) an outfit picture but oh well. Here is a picture of her from the train ride home.

We did spend rather a long time in the Topshop sale, I think I tried on eleven things!? Anyway Lynsey bought this rather cool checked dress with a massive poofy skirt, and I got a new boyfriend shirt, a skirt and Barbara Hulanacki bag. I'd seen the bag before but thought £25 was pretty expensive, so I was pretty pleased to find it for £12. It's a really nice, summery colour and absolutely huge! I've been on work experience this week, and although it's been pretty boring, it has given me an excuse to wear everything!

Finally you know I mentioned getting an outfit for T4 on the beach? Here is the dress I got! It's from H&M and I really like it, though it's a bit long so hopefully soon I'm going to take it up a little. Here's a picture, anyway.

Ate a slice of wonderbread, and went right back to bed

Emma Watson is officially my new favourite person. I've never really liked her style before, but after seeing her ELLE cover this month, those Burberry ads and now this amazing Teen Vogue editorial, I think I may be obsessed. I literally can't wait to get my hands on a copy of this (:

I'm off to Exeter with Lynsey tomorrow, to meet up with a few old, old friends and hopefully find myself something to wear for T4 on the beach! Any ideas on what I should look for?

PS. You may have noticed the Regina Spektor lyrics in the title, I've been listening to a lot of her recently, and this song, Samson, is beautiful. I've heard her new album is really good, I might buy it soon. Any other recommendations? x
