Winter winds litter London with lonely hearts

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, these last few weeks have been horrid.

I just ordered her new album, can't wait to listen to it♥

Counting the days on her fingers

I really can't believe I am off to Thailand tomorrow! I probably won't be able to post for a while so here is a little list of things...

A film I watched recently

is Le Fils de l'epicier (The Grocers Son). Sadly I couldn't find very many stills online but it is honestly one of the most beautiful films I've ever seen. The main character is gorgeous too

An album I've listened to recently

is Two Suns by Bat for Lashes. Well actually I bought it a while ago, and I just haven't got around to posting it, but it is amazing. I really want to get her debut when I come back, that's meant to be even better.

A photo I took recently

on the train. If I'm honest I really haven't taken enough pictures recently but I found this earlier when clearing my camera. It was taken whilst on the train back from my boyfriend's house last weekend (hence the grubbiness), which is always a sad journey, but that bit there is really beautiful.

A book I'm reading

Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov. Even though I'm only half way through and probably too young to understand it properly, I can honestly say that irregardless of its storyline, it's the most beautifully written book I've ever read.

And finally

a pretty dress because this post wouldn't be complete without one aha! You can get this in three colours, but I think the blue's my favourite, I really want to get it when I get home! Oh and it's from Topshop, obviously!

That's all from me for a while, be back in two weeks! x

What are you doing Sunday baby?

I just saw this video on nmeTV and had to post it, I love Lightspeed Champion so much! I saw him (with Alexa Chung actually...) at T4 on the Beach two years ago and have loved him ever since. Just look at those hats! I guess this song is quite different from his older stuff, much more varied in terms of instruments and just generally poppier but I'm still quite excited about his new album. It's on my list of pre-orders now, along with Marina and the Diamonds, Los Campesinos! and Laura Marling

Anyways, before I pop off to bed I just wanted to let you know after I wrote my last post, the lovely people at vouchercodes.co.uk sent me a £40 Topshop giftcard! Now I just need to decide what to spend it on, there's been so much lovely spring stock in recently no? I am going into Plymouth on Saturday though so I'm pretty sure I'll have spent it by then haha! Have a lovely rest of week everyone! x

All crop tops and testosterone passion

Just an outfit from a few days ago. I love these tights so much! Sorry about the strange smile. And sorry about the lazy mirror picture. One of these days I might actually get a tripod.

Dress and belt - Primark, cardigan - H&M, heart tights - Topshop.

My boyfriend bought me Hold On Now, Youngster... by Los Campesinos! as part of my Christmas present and I've been listening to it solidly for the last few days. Even if you don't like the band, you've got to say they have some amazing lyrics.

And I always get confused, because in supermarkets they turn the lights off when they want you to leave, but in discos they turn them on, and it's always sad to go, but it's never that sad, because there's only certain places you're guaranteed of getting a hug when you go, and on the way home, it seems like a good idea to go paddle in the fountain, and that's because it IS a good idea, and it's like we're all human, and the state of nature, we're undeveloped, we're ignorant, we're stupid, but we're happy.

This may well be my last post for a while, so Merry Christmas everyone! x

Let's all meet up in the year 2000, won't it be strange when we're all fully grown

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, I was ill at the weekend and have had what seems like mountains of school work recently. Anyways I just wanted to share these few songs with you, saw the first one on NMEtv tonight and have suddenly become obsessed with her, Ellie Goulding. Was actually gutted to find out her album isn't out until June next year! The second song was produced by Frankmusik, who to be honest I'm not a great fan of, but I have to say it is lovely. Anyways I hope you like them, and keep checking back as I do actually have some better posts scheduled soon!

Cross the road hold my hands

So maybe this a little belated seeing as it is Monday now, but on Friday I went to see Bloc Party!

The support band, Grammatics, who in truth I was sort of looking forward to seeing, turned out to be awful; although they had a cellist(!) not one of their songs had anything resembling a tune. But Bloc Party themselves were actually incredible. Kele looked absolutely gorgeous and every song (including some of the newer ones I've always said I didn't like) they played was awesome. Flux for one was absolutely MAGICAL. It was pretty packed and very sweaty and and there were people passing out all around me, but still I'd do anything to see them again!

I didn't take my camera on the night (the photo above was kindly donated by my good friend Lewis) and I forgot to take any pictures before I went but basically I wore my Topshop dress I blogged about before, with purple tights and plainish black flats that proved to be pretty good for dancing hahaa(:

Remember cuddles in the kitchen yeah, to get things off the ground

I spent the weekend with my boyfriend and my two best friends (separately, not all together), which was lovely, and so far this weeks been gooood. I'm definitely going back to Thailand now, in February next year! The flights are all booked up and everything; I'm actually so excited I could burst. Also I now have my ticket, and dress for Bloc Party. It's this one, though I promise I'll post some pictures soon...

Why does Urban Outfitters have to be so expensive? And why do they have to bring out such nice new stuff just as I have money, and have to save it? x

P.S Can't decide whether I love or hate this. Thoughts?

You don't need eyes to see if someone's got a heart of glass

Sorry I haven't posted since I got back, or much at all recently. I really am an appallingly bad blogger. I think in the future I'm gonna try and just post little things, but more often, does that sound OK? Tomorrow I have the wedding I've been going on about, so should be able to get some pictures for you all, and today I got some exam results (3A*s and an A!), so I reckon a celebratory shopping trip may be in order soon...

Anyways here are a couple newish song obsessions, tell me what you think (:

I'll do graffiti, if you sing to me in french

Despite the HIDEOUS weather on Sunday, T4 on the beach was amazing! The best act was definitely Dizzee Rascal, followed by Basement Jaxx and Gossip, they were both really great. I was really looking forward to Calvin Harris, but it seemed like there was some sort of technical problem or something, so it just wasn't LOUD enough. Florence and the Machine was absolutely incredible, but I think she would have been a whole lot better had she played the smaller stage, you know? Other than that, I managed to see rather a lot of artists, including Little Boots, Frankmusik, Paloma Faith, and, er Peter Andre. He just appeared on stage at one point, which was rather odd!

Ate a slice of wonderbread, and went right back to bed

Emma Watson is officially my new favourite person. I've never really liked her style before, but after seeing her ELLE cover this month, those Burberry ads and now this amazing Teen Vogue editorial, I think I may be obsessed. I literally can't wait to get my hands on a copy of this (:

I'm off to Exeter with Lynsey tomorrow, to meet up with a few old, old friends and hopefully find myself something to wear for T4 on the beach! Any ideas on what I should look for?

PS. You may have noticed the Regina Spektor lyrics in the title, I've been listening to a lot of her recently, and this song, Samson, is beautiful. I've heard her new album is really good, I might buy it soon. Any other recommendations? x

I started out with nothing and I still got most of it left

Just some recent online purchases... finally an american apparel skirt, some cds and a book. Oh and did I tell you I'll be seeing Florence and the Machine this summer? (: x

I told you to be patient, I told you to be fine

Happy weekend! Only one exam left now, rather happy atm (:

I know this is really a feeble excuse for a post, but it did make me laugh and I had to had to had to share it. Printed bags like this are so much nicer than t-shirts, no? I could do a pretty cool DIY one, if I could actually come up with something vaguely interesting/witty/relevant to write. Any ideas?

P.S. I've just become obsessed with Bon Iver. Will do a proper music post soon. Remind me.

Not even if death were good

4000 hits, yay!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I've been away in Cornwall for a few days, and last night I went out to a party which wasn't really a party, hahaa. Today was the last day of the holidays, and next week I have two exams, a job interview and a speaking and listening coursework thing, ahhh. Just wish me luck (:

I think I might make myself an etsy account soon (buying, not selling, I'm not remotely talented!), has anyone got any sellers they can recommend? Jewellery, accessories, books, anything. Oh and I made myself a tumblr the other day, hopefully at some point this week I'll get round to using it! x

photo:me

P.S. I've just started listening to the band ra ra riot, they're awesome and totally not as hardcore as they sound! I found them here, my new  favourite blog of the week (:

Oh I hope that you'll understand

I'm going to see Lily Allen in November, oh yes oh yes oh yes.  Also have tickets for T4 on the Beach (better people WILL be announced, they will) and still probably going to Bloc Party, so right now I have quite a bit to look forward to. Oh and right now I'm listening to The Virgins album, I love them sooo much.

And I've just realised I now have thirty followers on here and bloglovin, thanks! x

And birds were singing, to calm us down

I know you've probably all heard this song already, but I found this video ages ago and only just realised how to upload it! x

PS. Can anyone reccomend a good tripod?

If we don't know, somewhere to go, back to the 101

Yesterday I got some bad news, i.e. no Thai visitor for me and probably no visit to Thailand either. The day turned out better than I expected though, I went to go see 'The Boat That Rocked' with my best friend Lynsey, and then out for nachos (:

Spent the rest of the evening updating my iPod and making playlists with stupid titles, so favourite new (well new for me) songs are below. It's all pretty varied tbqh, but tell me what you think, and if any of you know how to get an actual 'playlist' on here that'd be great! The most comments I've got on a post is 14 so far, I'd love to get 20 though!
  • breathe me - sia
  • lua - bright eyes
  • ghosts - ladytron
  • teen lovers - the virgins
  • 101 - albert hammond jr.
  • full moon - the black ghosts
  • a cause des garçons - yelle
  • sad song - au revoir simone
  • don't upset the rhythm -noisettes
  • last of the english roses - peter doherty
  • to build a home - the cinematic orchestra
  • why aren't you dancing? - pull in emergency

That's sad, you didn't win anything

Today is the first day of the Easter holidays, so I've been pretty happy today, doing the best part of nothing and just enjoying the fact I don't have school for another two weeks. Also I have to tell you yesterday I found out that soon I'm going to be having an exchange student from THAILAND! I'm so excited. Anyways this is what I'm wearing today, and out to a party tonight.

shirt dress - topman, vest top - h&m, tights - wherever, belt - primark.

I was really sad to hear about Agyness and Albert splitting up (they were such a beautiful couple!) but it did prompt me to listen to some of Mr. Albert Hammond Jr's music, and I have to say its pretty good. Check him out (: Bye for now x

measure stars in the back yard with a calculator and a ruler

I didn't realise until yesterday that I've had over 1200 clicks and 550 separate visitors, so thanks! A few more followers would be nice though (: Anyways I don't have a lot of time (well, fifteen minutes) before I have to go out, but here are two links I hope you'll like.

The Photographic Dictionary is amazing. I'll let the pictures explain how it works...
abandon - Mikhail Wassmer
doily - Teresa Frausin

kiss - Angus R. Shamal

platform - Peter Devan

no - Christian Brunnstrom

Also atm I'm really into Spotify. It works a bit like last.fm, only much faster and much easier to use. You can make your own playlists like on iTunes as well which is rather grand. I think I might post some when I work out how. Currently playing is 'The Lucky One', by Au Revoir Simone. Lovely (:

Those teenage hopes, arrive at your door.

Haven't got an awful lot to say for myself today, but I thought I'd share some pictures with you guys. They're of me and Rosie out enjoying the sunshine last night, it was loverly (:

PS. I've just listened to the Sia album 'Colour the Small One' all the way through a few times via last.fm, it's amazing. If you haven't listened to it before, you should. What music are you into atm? x
